Junior Training Squad
About Junior Training Squad
Brisbane Volleyball Club runs a Junior Training Squad and Spikezone program for each term of the school year. The JTS program, combined with the Spikezone program, allows primary and secondary school aged male and female athletes to get extra training outside of their school teams with a specific focus on skill development. Whilst many athletes in these squads play in school teams, this squad is also open to new players who do not have school teams as well.
What
Our coaches are committed to teaching Junior athletes correct technique and skill models to allow them to reach their full potential.
Each term runs a progression from Skill Acquisition through to Match Play systems and scenarios, so players can get a true sense of improvement in each term they participate.
What Age
The Junior Training Squad is for male or female players of Primary and High School age. Sometimes training groups are further separated by age depending on demand - if this is the case this is displayed in the Term Dates table below.
When
The squad trains during school weeks (not during holidays) and players sign up for each term of the year. Players can choose to opt-in and opt-out of the squad from term to term to allow them to pursue other commitments throughout the school year.

What is needed
There are no uniform or equipment requirements for players to participate.
However, we do recommend that players have good indoor shoes that are kept clean to give better grip. We also suggest players wear Knee Pads and bring their own water bottle to trainings.
We can help with where to purchase Volleyball Shoes or Knee Pads, just send us an email.
